London UK – November 22 2011 – Evil Genius Media (EGM) are proud to announce the signing of acclaimed Australian production rock act [26] for management in all territories effective immediately.
EGM has immediately commenced work scheduling a first UK single and album release for the band drawn from [26]’s acclaimed Australian released album Birth’s Deaths and Marriages. In addition EGM is setting plans in place to tour the Australian act in the UK and Europe in early to mid 2011.
[26] were the focus of considerable industry attention when they performed at MuseExpo Europe in London & MuseExpo L.A. as well as Hong Kong’s Music Matters earlier this year. They immediately attracted enthusiastic support from Mainstage Artists agent Alex Lloyd who will represent the band for bookings and plugger Adrian Tredinnick of Copmedia who will take releases to radio.
[26] are Nick O’Donnell (Vocals & Sonic Rhythm Guitar) Drew Fellows ( Keyboards & Vocals), Ross Duckworth (Bass & Vocals) and Iain Wilson (Drums & Vocals)
“I saw [26] at Sat Bisla’s MuseExpo Europe this year and what they are doing with their sound immediately made sense to me for the UK and European market.” Says EGM owner Mark Muggeridge. An announcement on the first single and tour dates will follow shortly.
[26]’s album Birth’s Deaths and Marriages was released to considerable acclaim in Australia from local media. Writing in The Brisbane Courier Mail respected journalist Noel Mengel compared [26] to Coldplay and Elbow and said that they “deserved the attention on the world stage.” In part the enthusiasm is due to the bands sweeping production sound that stretches from a raw and honest four piece indie rock band through to more atmospheric material that uses backing from church organs, orchestral harps and a in one case a 100 piece choir.
